Arts Umbrella’s Pre-Professional Theatre Program is proud to present their production of Urinetown: The Musical as part of the 2017 Expressions Theatre Festival, Arts Umbrella’s annual event showcasing the next generation of gifted young artists, and taking place at the Waterfront Theatre, May 19 – 27, 2017.
In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage caused by a 20-year drought has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he has had enough and starts a revolution to lead them all to freedom.
