A musical mini-biography of Pierre Trudeau, Canada's 15th Prime Minister and father of Justin, with Jessie-nominated Music Director Peter Abando and a live 4-piece band.
After a successful run at Firehall Theatre in the 2018 fringe Festival, the script was extensively rewritten and many new songs were added. The new script finished 2nd in Theatre BC’s 2018 Canadian Playwriting Competition in the full length play category.
Come and join us as a very diverse cast of 8 talented Vancouver singer/actors performs a 75-minute Fringe mini-version of the new script and songs. Meet Pierre and Margaret Trudeau, and a host of characters including Barbra Streisand, John Lennon & Yoko Ono, FLQ brothers Paul & Jacques Rose, US Presidents Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan, and British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, the Iron Lady.
The show features live original music in a variety of genres including classic soul, hip-hop, swing, reggae, pop, and country rock.
Note: For COVID safety reasons, this will be staged as a read/sing through. The audience is protected by glass barriers, and the actors are separated from each other by transparent screens. The audience size is limited to 50 for each show. Check the Fringe website for further safety details.
